AirPods Max headphones unlikely to get any further upgrades

Image credit: AppleIn the recent updates to the product, Apple failed to upgrade the chip inside the AirPods Max to the H2 as it had with the AirPods Pro, meaning the headset is still not compatible with Adaptive Audio.Bloomberg claims that that the company has “no concrete plans” to update the headphones’ hardware again, at least for now. Siri engine to be fundamentally revamped across 2025, early 2026

By news@appleinsider.com (Charles Martin) Apple is in the process of overhauling Siri to catch up to AI engines like ChatGPT, but the revamp will emerge in stages across 2025 and into 2026.Siri will continue to improve in increments across 2025 and into 2026.The company has already introduced some minor changes to Siri, including the option to type commands, a revamped interface, and an improved ability to deal with pauses when users speak. Apple will also roll out a better interaction between Siri and apps, and better integration with personal data starting in iOS 18.4, expected in the spring of 2025.One of the big changes users will notice that is coming soon is integration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT. However, Bloomberg reports that this is more of a “band-aid” to give Siri a more AI feel while the company works on its own generative AI integration. Apple slashes MacBook Pro speaker repair costs

By news@appleinsider.com (Charles Martin) Apple will dramatically reduce the cost of speaker repair in the Apple Silicon 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro, ending the longstanding need to buy a whole replacement top case.Apple is making it more affordable to repair the MacBook Pro.The replacement of damaged speakers in these MacBook Pro models remains complex, but self-service repair will as much as 90% cheaper than at present. It’s entirely because standalone speaker repair parts will be released soon.Consequently, users will not have to pay for a replacement battery, the MacBook Pro’s top casing, or other unrelated components. Tap to Pay on iPhone, Apple Watch arrives in New Zealand
