Android becomes world’s most used OS online, Apple’s iOS & macOS trail

Google’s Android is now the most popular OS in the world across all hardware platforms, having barely overtaken Microsoft Windows in March, according to Web analytics research published on Monday.

GN’s iPhone-connected ReSound LiNX 3D hearing aid allows remote tuning by doctors

GN Hearing on Monday announced the ReSound LiNX 3D, a new version of its iPhone-connected hearing aid that will let doctors adjust settings remotely, instead of requiring follow-up appointments or leaving it up to owners.

ESPN update rebrands Apple TV app, adds more on-demand content

ESPN has rebranded its app for Apple TV, changing the name of the tvOS app from WatchESPN to ESPN, with the sports broadcaster also introducing new video content to the Apple set-top box, including more on-demand content for users to watch.

Apple ditching Imagination Technologies GPU technology, moving design in-house

Apple is pulling out of a partnership with Imagination Technologies, the British company behind the graphics technology used in iOS devices, with Apple’s decision to stop using Imagination’s intellectual property within two years prompting the UK firm’s shares to plunge in value by more than 60 percent.

Apple, Amazon, Google identified as bidders for Toshiba’s NAND flash memory business

Three tech firms — Apple, Amazon, and Google — have reportedly joined the considerable list of bidders of Toshiba’s NAND flash memory business, now on the market as Toshiba looks to raise $9 billion to cover losses at its U.S. nuclear unit, Westinghouse.
