Apple glasses could have hidden cameras and removable earphones

Apple’s long-rumored AR or VR headset could keep some of its optical components behind an electrically-controlled layer to hide them from view when not required, as well as earphones that could be removed from the head-mounted display and used as speakers.

Apple earned 66% of the entire smartphone market’s profits in 2019

Research claims that while the entire market’s smartphone profits declined by around a tenth in 2019, Apple continued to dominate with 66% of all profits and the nearest competitor being Samsung on just 17%.

Apple Pencil could better simulate drawing on paper with haptic feedback

Adding onto research on tablet screens that could simulate a textured surface, Apple is looking at ways to include sensors and haptics in the tip of a stylus to better simulate the feel of paper underneath the Apple Pencil.

Apple open-sources HomeKit Accessory Development Kit to spur adoption, grow new standard

Apple has published an open-source version of its HomeKit Accessory Development Kit, allowing more users to experiment with the development of HomeKit accessories. The release is designed to accelerate development of a new universal smart home standard created by a consortium of companies including Apple, Amazon, Google and the Zigbee Alliance.

Final ‘big four’ Australian bank folds, announces Apple Pay rollout by mid-2020

Westpac, Australia’s second-largest bank, on Thursday announced upcoming support for Apple Pay, making it the last of the country’s so-called “big four” banks to adopt Apple’s mobile payments solution after holding out for years.

Lawsuit alleges Apple Music streams songs without proper license

Apple TV+ comedy’ series Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet’ debuts on Feb. 7
