More carmakers have signed on to the more comprehensive and built-in Android Automotive technology.This is different from the first-gen Android Auto, in that the Automotive system is embedded in the vehicle at the factory. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple’s next-gen CarPlay still runs on the iPhone, which provides greater flexibility, but no opportunity for licensing. Initially filed in December 2022 and amended in October 2023 following an “explosion of reporting,” the lawsuit from dozens of people in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California has become a problem for Apple.On Friday, U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria ruled that some of the claims in the lawsuit were sufficiently argued enough to proceed. However, in April 2021, a judge ordered a stay on the case until the U.S. version of the dispute reached a conclusion.With the American litigation all but concluded entirely, the courtroom action in Australia is preparing to start again. By news@appleinsider.com (Charles Martin) A bug in the release version of macOS Sonoma 14.4 causes Java processes to terminate unexpectedly, so Mac users who need to run Java should delay updating.The new issue is affecting all versions of Java from version 8 on up, including current early access builds. There is currently no workaround available, according to Oracle.The flaw wasn’t seen in the betas leading up to the release of 14.4, according to Oracle Senior Director of Product Management Aurelio Garcia-Ribeyro. “Ahead-of-Time compiled applications created with GraalVM Native Image should not be affected, but your ability to build new images may be,” he noted in a post warning about the flaw.Oracle has notified its partners in OpenJDK, customers, and Apple of the problem. Since there is no easy way to revert a macOS update, affected Apple Silicon Mac users who have already upgraded to version 14.4 will have to wait for a fix from Apple to overcome the issue.
