Apple spotlights how its technology is helping 4-H youth development

(Source: Apple)The Community Education Initiative (CEI) started in 2019 in a partnership with Tennessee State University. It began with the aim of exposing students at historically black colleges and universities, to opportunities in app development.Since then, Apple’s CEI has expanded, with the company saying in 2022, that it was then working with over 600 communities around the world. Now in a new profile of its CEI ambitions, Apple says that it is presently working with tens of thousands of students, across all 50 states, plus 99 other countries and regions. Sonos CEO insists iOS app cannot be rolled back to the older, better one

By news@appleinsider.com (Malcolm Owen) Sonos users will have to continue using the current and hugely disliked iOS app, with the company’s CEO making it clear that it’s not possible to roll back to the older app any longer.The Sonos app on an iPhoneSince its app update in May, Sonos has received frequent complaints about the revision, with users upset by a number of missing features and functionality. While the company CEO has already apologized for the disruption caused by the new app, there’s apparently no way back for the app at all.In an “Office Hours” Q&A session on Reddit on Monday, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence, continued the apology tour with assurances about the app. However, those assurances would not include rolling back the app to a previous state. UK drops App Store investigation, says it has better things to do

By news@appleinsider.com (William Gallagher) After three years and, significantly, a change in government, the UK’s competition regulator has closed its App Store investigation before reaching a conclusion.UK ParliamentThe UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) first announced the investigation in 2021, saying that it followed an unspecified number of complaints sent to it. At the time, the regulator said that the complaints “warrant careful scrutiny.”According to the UK government’s own documentation, the investigation opened on March 3, 2021, and an initial information-gathering process ran until February 2022. Serial mail thieves thwarted when victim sends herself an AirTag

Now a repeat victim of theft from her mailbox at the Los Alamos Post Office in Santa Maria Valley, has used one to track down the culprits.According to the New York Post the woman, who has not been identified, mailed herself an Apple AirTag. Customers can now extend AppleCare+ up to 45 days after it expires

By news@appleinsider.com (Amber Neely) Apple has recently increased the number of days a customer can extend their AppleCare+ coverage to 45 days, up from the previous 30.AppleCare+ plans can now be extended up to 45 days after they expire in Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.According to the AppleCare+ coverage document, first spotted by MacRumors, the coverage can continue 24 or 36 months, or on a monthly or annual basis until canceled.You can check when your AppleCare+ coverage expires on your iPhone or iPad by heading to Settings > General > About > Coverage. Latest iOS 18 beta is ‘final’ for all but the iPhone 16 models
