By news@appleinsider.com (Charles Martin) India’s Tata Electronics is reportedly buying a 60 percent stake in Taiwan-based Pegatron’s only India iPhone facility, strengthening Tata’s position as Apple’s main supplier partner in the country.Tata has reportedly bought a controlling stake in a former Pegatron iPhone plant — image credit: PegatronPegatron and the Tata Group have been negotiating since at least April 2024. This plant, which has some 10,000 employees and helps make five million iPhones annually, will give Tata its third iPhone factory in India, according to Reuters.Tata previously bought out a Wistron iPhone assembly facility in the southern state of Karnataka.
